Stuart began working in the dental industry at the age of 16, enrolling onto a dental technician apprenticeship within an established, Stoke on Trent based, full service dental laboratory.
At the age of 23, Stuart set up his own business, Gibson’s Dental Laboratory, and his business has served dental surgeries well, supplying quality dental appliances around the South Cheshire and North Staffordshire areas, since 1994.
In 2011, Stuart enrolled onto the clinical dental technology course at UCLan, Lancs. This enabled him to gain the qualification to become a Clinical Dental Technologist (CDT).
Training background
The training and qualification gained at UCLan to become a CDT was to enable Stuart to treat patients directly (or by referral of a dentist for patients with existing teeth) to provide high quality, natural looking dentures. Stuart’s wealth of experience and critical eye for detail has made this venture a success and has a multitude of satisfied patients.
Specialist area of dentistry
Stuart has always been interested in proportion and the golden rule of nature’s symmetry. He instills this interest into his work to give his patients a natural, proportional smile that is taken for a real, god-given smile.
Associations
Stuart has given lectures to dental undergraduates explaining the dental surgery/laboratory interface, helping to create harmony and good working protocols which in turn helps the patient to gain a successful outcome to their treatment.
Stuart is also in the process of compiling CPD courses for dental professionals covering the impression taking, bite registration and denture problem solving techniques.
Outside of dentistry
Stuart is a music lover, all types but mainly progressive rock. Tunes that make you think. He also collects guitars and tries his best to play them. The guitars more often than not have is family name on, Gibson.
Stuart is a keen keep fitter and can be often seen running around Trentham gardens lake and attending his local gym.
Stuart loves to watch his local team, Port Vale, and is also a keen follower of American NFL team the Buffalo Bills.
